Günther Tappeiner is Sector Advisor at PINOVA and supports the PINOVA team in particular in the area of Innovative Materials. With over 30 years of experience in the chemical industry, he has extensive expertise in overall business management as well as specifically in production, sales and the research and development of chemical products. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the portfolio company Riepe and Managing Director of IREMA-Filter, a former PINOVA portfolio company.
From 2018 to 2024 Günther Tappeiner led Deurowood GmbH, a former portfolio company of PINOVA, initially as Head of Sales & New Business and from 2019 as Managing Director. In this role he was significantly involved in M&A activities, including the sale to Freudenberg Chemical Specialities in April 2021 and the acquisition of an Italian competitor in September 2023.
Prior to that Günther Tappeiner held various leadership positions at Reichhold Chemicals, with headquarter in the US from 2009 to 2017 and worked at Agrolinz Melamine International in Austria from 2001 to 2009. He began his career at PCD – Polymers and also served as an assistant at the University of Innsbruck.
Günther Tappeiner earned both his diploma and his doctorate in chemistry from the University of Innsbruck.
